Odyssey Gulf Expedition
AGAR along with Nautifish is spearheading a fundraising and awareness initiative regarding the Odyssey Gulf Expedition. The mission is to gain a clearer understanding of the consequences of oil and chemical dispersants in the Gulf Region along with what this will do to the Fisheries of the Atlantic Ocean. The Odyssey Expedition is a project of Ocean Alliance our charitable partner of the Nautifish brand of seafood. You can read more about the Odyssey here: http://www.pbs.org/odyssey/
We have all seen the images of the Gulf Oil Spill and have begun to hear what many experts say will go down as the worst Marine Disaster in history and the effects of this national tragedy. We, as well as many of our partners have a vested interest in seeing this region not only cleaned up but to hear the short and long term effects on our precious ocean resources and the seafood industry.
One of the species Ocean Alliance will track and research is the Sperm Whale which is the Top of the Food Chain in our Oceans. Through this research and study of the Sperm Whale and other species, they hope to gain a better understanding of the overall health of the region and the species that occupy it.
Ocean Alliance has at its core ocean conservation; from healthy vibrant oceans, to healthy, plentiful marine mammals and marine fish stocks. Ocean Alliance wants to achieve what all those who depend on healthy oceans would like to achieve: the long-term health and sustainability of all marine animals. We are asking you to join us in this critical endeavor by making a contribution to Ocean Alliance in support of their mission.
Please make your tax-deductible contribution out to Ocean Alliance C/O AGAR, 225 John Hancock Road, Taunton, MA. 02780-7318 or call 617-880-5317 for more information. Ocean Alliance is a Not for Profit (501-c3) organization.
